Alexander J. Saltzman


Alex Saltzman directs the development and redevelopment of residential and commercial real estate at Alchemy Properties. He is involved with all aspects of the firm’s projects including acquisition, investor relations, pre-development, construction, asset management, marketing, sales and leasing. Along with his responsibilities for active assets in Manhattan and Brooklyn, Alex currently oversees the conversion of The Woolworth Building, a national historic landmark, to premium residential condominiums.

During his career, Alex has developed over one million square feet spanning diverse projects in both urban and suburban markets. Prior to joining Alchemy in 2007, he managed developments at HK Organization in Brooklyn where he focused on adaptive reuse pre-development and entitlements. Alex also served as a project manager at Toll Brothers in Philadelphia where he oversaw the development of its largest urban project as well as numerous residential and commercial properties.

Alex holds an MS in Real Estate from New York University and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a Professor at the Schack Institute of Real Estate at New York University, where he teaches development.
