An Alchemy Properties Inc. affiliate purchased a condominium interest in 4 floors above an existing drugstore in a dilapidated warehouse building adjacent to a subway station. By carefully building the structure, we were able to add 4 floors while keeping the drugstore operational despite also having to remove the entire front façade because of structural concerns. We sold out the entire condominium project except 2 units prior to completion. This was one of our most challenging construction projects because of the poor condition of the building which needed almost complete demolition, the continued operation of the drug store, adding four floors, the proximity of the subway, and the shut down of the site due to the World Trade Center tragedy four blocks away.
